British rider Alex Dowsett of Movistar has won the closing time trial in the Tour of Pologne. Tim Wellens got the overall victory, finishing the stage in 13th place.

Dowsett's teammate Jonathan Castroviejo, Primoz Roglic of Lotto NL-Jumbo, Ben Hermans of BMC and Victor Campenaerts, also of Lotto NL-Jumbo, complete the top five of the time trial stage.

Wellens took the lead in the general classification after the fifth stage, where he escaped on mountainous terrain under a lot of rain. By doing so, he created an advantage of more than four minutes. The rain and bad weather also caused the cancellation of stage 6, allowing the Belgian to take an early overall victory.

The Lotto-Soudal rider also topped the mountain classification and ranked first in the most active rider ranking, while Alberto Bettiol (Cannondale-Drapac) was the overall best sprinter. Pawel Cieslik was the best Polish rider and Lotto-Soudal was the best team.

The top five of the general classification is completed by Fabio Felline of Trek-Segafredo, Alberto Bettiol, Davide Formolo of Cannondale-Drapac, and Tiesj Benoot of Lotto-Soudal.
