Cyclists Tobias Ludvigsson, Jacopo Guarnieri and Rudy Molard are all set to join French WorldTour team FDJ at the start of the 2017 season.

The team announced this in a press release on Tuesday.

"The transfer market has just opened its doors and we are happy to announce three first recruits for the coming season," said team manager Marc Madiot.

"We wanted to strengthen the guard of our leaders and we have done so with these three guys.

"Guarnieri will take the task of protecting Arnaud Demare in the sprints, just Ludvigsson who is a very complete rider. Molard will primarily protect Thibaut Pinot.

Molard is looking forward to his task at the French outfit. "For me this is a new exciting challenge. To form part of a WorldTour team and work for a leader like Thibaut is great," he said.

Guarnieri, meanwhile, is set to learn the language as fast as possible. "I don't speak French well yet but I'm going to start soon. It is important to integrate even if we already know most of the riders. The team wanted me and that was important to me. Supporting the young but very talented Arnaud Demare is important as well.

"I am very happy to join the FDJ Team and I'll make sure to give my maximum for the collective."

Guarnieri, (28), makes the move from Russian team Katusha. Molard (28) spent the last six years at Cofidis and Tobias Ludvigsson (25) currently represents Giant-Alpecin along with his younger brother Fredrik.
