Arctic Race of Norway: Stage and leader's jersey for Moscon

Gianni Moscon of Team Sky has won the third stage of the Arctic Race of Norway and takes the leader's jersey from his teammate Danny van Poppel. The Italian was eleven seconds faster than Stef Clement of IAM Cycling, 24 seconds ahead of Tinkoff's Oscar Gatto.

It was a mountainous stage with three second category climbs and a final 8.9 kilometer long ascent of the first category to the Summit of Korgfjellet.

There were numerous attacks during the day but the only attack that succeeded was that of Matt Brammeir (Dimension Data), Daniel Oss (BMC), Steele Von Hoff (ONE Pro Cycling) and Leigh Howard of IAM Cyling. This group stayed together well into the final climb, but the toughness of the ascent left Oss alone and he was soon caught by the peloton.

Rein Taaramae of Katusha launched the first attack on the climb, followed by Lars Petter Nordhaug and Sebastian Henao of SKY. With three kilometers to go Clement launched himself but a kilometer later Moscon overtook him and got the stage victory ahead of the Dutchman and Gatto.

Martin Elmiger of IAM and Odd Christian Eiking of FDJ complete the top five of this stage of the Norwegian race.
