Spanish WorldTour team Movistar has announced the signing of Italian Daniele Bennati for the 2017 season.

Movistar made the announcement through a press statement. "With Bennati, Movistar Team obtains a man who is willing to give his all for the team, especially on flat terrain where the Tuscan built a splendid palmares as a sprinter," the statement read.

The 35-year-old has 15 years of experience as a professional cyclist, having started his career at Acqua e Sapone in 2002. He has since represented a number of teams, including Phonak, Lampre, Liquigas and Leopard Trek before moving to his current team Tinkoff in 2013.
