Bahrain-Merida signs Haussler and Bole

Future WorldTour team Bahrain-Merida has two new riders: Australian Heinrich Haussler and Slovenian Grega Bole. The pair are the eighth and the ninth rider to be announced for the Middle East formation.

Haussler, who signed a contract for the 2017 season has in the past achieved a second place in the Tour of Flanders and Milan-San Remo, as well as some stage victories in the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España.

The rider, currently at IAM Cycling, is very versatile and can as such be used both in the sprints and in the classics.

Meanwhile, Slovenian Bole signed a contract for two seasons. The most prominent highlight of his career is a victory in the GO Ouest France-Plouay in 2011. He currently rides for Nippo-Vini Fantini.

"We already had them in mind for some time. Both riders can give us good results in several races and are good in several areas," said team manager Brent Copeland.

They will be joining a team led by Vincenzo Nibali, in addition consisting of Luka Pibernik, Sonny Colbrelli, Kanstantin Siutsou, Borut Bozic, Manuele Boaro and Giovanni Viscontie.
