Many agree that Chris Froome was quite a trend-setter in last year's Tour de France, but Sir Bradley Wiggins took an example that few would have expected.

The Olympic champion was dragging himself up a climb aptly named 'Struggle' in the Tour of Britain on Monday when he decided to 'pull a Froomey' and get off his bike to run a short distance instead.

"Taking things very seriously at the top of the struggle, took my mind off being in a world of pain," the Briton wrote on Instagram.

In difference to Froome however, Wiggins kept his bicycle as he still needed the vehicle for the remainder of the stage.

The former Tour de France winner finished the stage in 119th place at 22 minutes from winner Julien Vermote.
