Rohan Dennis impresses in Eneco Tour time trial

Rohan Dennis of BMC Racing Team is the new leader of the Eneco Tour after winning the short individual time trial on Tuesday.

The second stage of the Dutch-Belgian race took place in the city of Breda and had home fans rooting for national favorite Tom Dumoulin. The Giant-Alpecin rider failed to impress however and finished the time trial in 14th position.

Tony Martin wasn't much more successful as the German found himself in 13th place at 20 seconds from the eventual winner.

Dennis needed just 10'48" to complete the nine-kilometer route and was five seconds faster than Dutchman Jos van Emden of LottoNL-Jumbo. Jasha Sutterlin of Movistar took third place at 14 seconds.

In the overall standings, Dennis takes the leader's jersey at the expense of Dylan Groenewegen who played no role of significance in the time trial. Van Emden and Peter Sagan complete the top three after two of seven stages.
