World champion Peter Sagan is determined to recover the top position of the Eneco Tour in the remaining two stages after losing the leader's jersey on Friday.
Sagan's Tinkoff Team was no match for Rohan Dennis' BMC Racing Team, which won the Team Time Trial and took Dennis back to the top of the standings, which the Australian had already led after stages two and three before losing the jersey to Sagan.
"I knew it would be a difficult team time trial," Sagan said. "It would have to be, against the best teams of the world in this discipline. I don't know what we could have done better.
The Slovak, who recently added the first Elite European Road Race title to his impressive palmares, is currently 27 seconds behind Dennis but still sees chances. "It's going to be difficult, but we have to be smart today and on Sunday. I'm in fourth place, but with all the bonification seconds that are up for grabs in the last two stages, anything is possible."
Dennis, meanwhile, is aware of Sagan's abilities and continues to see the Tinkoff leader as his biggest rival. "He has the best sprint and he can also gain a lot in the Golden Kilometer", a kilometer that offer.s three intermediate sprints in a row.
The sixth stage, on Saturday, is 185km long and takes the peloton from Riemst to Lanaken in Belgium.
