Erviti, Sutherland, Anacona and Rojas renew with Movistar

Movistar team has announced the contract renewals of Imanol Erviti, Rory Sutherland, Winner Anacona and José Joaquín Rojas for the 2017 season.

The next season will be the 13th of Erviti in the Spanish squad and he will continue his work as a road captain. The rider has competed in 17 Grand Tours and in the 2016 season he was particularly successful at the Spring classics, finishing seventh at the Ronde van Vlaanderen and ninth at Paris-Roubaix. The classics will once again be a focus point for the coming year.

After he recovers from the heavy crash he suffered during the 20th stage of the 2016 Vuelta a España, Rojas will return to continue the support for the General Classification riders on all the terrains.

Colombian Anacona will be supporting his fellow countryman Nairo Quintana in his efforts to win the Tour de France as he has done in the past. He will continue to support the GC contenders at key moments in the mountains, as he did in the past in places like the Alpe d'Huez.

Australian Sutherland will add a third season to his time at the Spanish team, working to set the pace in the peloton on flat terrain. His work during the first part of stages has been of great importance to the success of the squad in the past.
