Kazakh rider Ruslan Tleubayev has won the second stage of the Chinese Tour of Hainan. Rafael Andriato remains in the overall lead.

The second stage of the UCI 2.HC race offered an opportunity for a group of seven riders to attack early on but the bigger teams were never threatened by the situation. The peloton caught the escapees at around three kilometers from the finish in order to set up a bunch sprint.

In the sprint, Astana's Alexey Lutsenko set the pace for his teammate and compatriot Tleubayev and did so in such an impressive manner that the rest of the peloton could not keep up.

As such, Tleubayev took the victory ahead of Lutsenko for an Astana double, with Roberto Ferrari of Lampre-Merida taking third place just behind the two Kazakhs.

Rafael Andriato of Wilier-Southeast, the winner of Saturday's opening stage, remains in the lead in the General Classification.
