Boasson Hagen, Farrar and Anton renew with Dimension Data

Team Dimension Data has announced the contract renewals of Edvald Boasson Hagen, Tyler Farrar and Igor Anton.

In a press statement issued on Friday, the team's Head of Performance Rolf Aldag describes the three as "great ambassadors for Qhubeka and as leaders on and off the bike for our team".

"We are happy to continue working with them to achieve our future goals. All three are great characters who act like role models for our young talents, contribute by scoring results in the races and hold key positions in our structures. The experiences and respect they have earned in the peloton over the years, in combination with the values they stand for, makes them very special to us and our partners," Aldag added.

Norwegian Boasson Hagen (29) joined the team in 2015 and won the Tour of Britain and both the National Road Race and the National Time Trial the same year. He repeated the domestic victories in 2016 and in addition won the points classification of the Criterium du Dauphine and the Tour of Oman.

"I'm really happy in this team," the Scandinavian said. "It's a special team and I have good teammates. Going to race for Team Dimension Data and the Qhubeka charity for another two years is really great."

Farrar has spent the last two years at the team and is expected to share his experience with younger riders. "At 32 years of age the experienced American will continue to be a vital member of our African team and is likely to build on his mentoring role," the team explained in the statement.

Igor Anton (33) meanwhile, will continue to assist his teammates in the mountains as he did in this year's Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España.
