Caja Rural signs Dylan Page and keeps David Arroyo

Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has announced the signing of Swiss sprinter Dylan Page and the extension of the contract of David Arroyo.

Page makes the move from Team Roth, where he had a good 2016 season in which he performed well in mass sprints. One of the highlights of his year was the Trofeo Playa de Palma, in which he finished third, only behind Andre Greipel and Nacer Bouhanni.

"This is a great opportunity for me to take a step forward in my career and try something new," said the rider, who signed a one year contract. "Caja Rural - Seguros RGA is the second biggest Spanish team. They have very strong riders and an important race program. This season was my first one at the pro-level and I think it has been a really good year for me.

"I got some good results and I gained a lot of experience for the future. Now, I want to help my new team and bring what I've got to the table. I want to be stronger than I was this year and show my speed in the sprints."

The 2017 season will be the sixth consecutive for Arroyo in the Spanish formation. The 2016 campaign included some good moments for the rider, such as the second place overall in the Tour of Turkey and the fourth in the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon, and some bad ones like the health problems that stopped him from having a good condition during the Vuelta a España.

"I'm very happy to continue with Caja Rural - Seguros RGA. This season has been bittersweet for me but the years don't go to waste and I'm glad I can share my experience with the youngsters on the team. They are all very motivated and strive to be great riders," affirmed the Spaniard.

"For me, it's very rewarding to help and teach these young guys. However, next year, I also want to do well in races on a personal level, which is important in order to gain confidence and moral to keep doing what you like."
