Katusha-Alpecin presents team and kit for 2017

UCI WorldTour team Katusha-Alpecin has presented its team and new uniform for the 2017 season. While the team may have switched countries, it stays true to its style.

The presentation, which took place in the Spanish town of Benidorm, featured all of Katusha-Alpecin's riders for next season and offered a platform for General Manager Viatcheslav Ekimov to pass the baton to his successor Jose Azevedo.

The start of the presentation, which was attended by representatives of both Katusha and Alpecin, focused mostly on the 2016 season, the 25 victories (13 for Alexander Kristoff) and 40 podium spots.

The new outfit was first presented by the team's three big stars: Kristoff, Ilnur Zakarin and new signing Tony Martin. The latter had arrived to Spain only a day before following the birth of his daughter on November 27th.

For its 2017 outfit, the team opted to stick to red despite the changes it is undergoing with the arrival of a new sponsor and the license move from Russia to Switzerland. The Alpecin logo is now clearly present on the chest and the Katusha 'K' is featured on the sleeve.

The 26 riders were then presented in four different groups: Time trialists, sprinters, climbers and all-rounders, to reaffirm the team's ambitions on all terrains.

Ahead of the presentation, CyclingPub.com had the opportunity to speak to Alexander Kristoff, Tony Martin and Colombian Jhonathan Restrepo. In the next days, we will be publishing their interviews.
