European and South American teams get wild cards for Volta a Catalunya

The Volta a Catalunya has unveiled the wild cards for its 2017 edition. The Spanish race invited five European and two South American teams from the UCI Professional Continental level.
The teams invited to take part in the 97th edition of the race are: Caja Rural-Seguros RGA of Spain, CCC Sprandi Polkowice of Poland, Cofidis of France, Manzana Postobon from Colombia, Roompot-Nederlandse Loterij from the Netherlands, Sould Brasil Pro Cycling Team of Brazil and Wanty - Groupe Gobert of Belgium.
The race, also known as the Tour of Catalonia, is one of the three stage races that are held in Spain and is part of the World Tour, formerly Pro Tour, since 2005.
The race will take place between the 20th and the 26th of March and its route will pass through cities and towns in this autonomous community like Calella, Banyoles, Mataró, Valls, Tortosa, Reus and Barcelona, as well as places in the Pyrenees like La Molina and Llívia, which will give the chance for climbers to shine.
