Marcel Kittel wins again in Dubai Tour

Marcel Kittel has won his second consecutive stage in the Dubai Tour and as such remains in the lead in the overall classification.

The 188 kilometers long course from Dubai to Ras al Khaimah was, just like the opening stage, a perfect opportunities for the large amount of top sprinters to shine.

A front group of five with Yousef Mirza (UAE Abu Dhabi), Mark Christian (Aqua Blue Sport), Simone Andreeta (Bardiani-CSF), Jean-Pierre Drucker (BMC) and Pete Williams (ONE Pro Cycling) built a maximum lead of about four minutes but there was no competing with the sprinters' teams and the escapees were caught at 13 kilometers from the end.

The preparation for the final sprint had teams fighting for a position at the front. Dylan Groenewegen of LottoNL-Jumbo, second in the opening stage, spent some time leading the sprint was but eventually surpassed by Quick-Step Floors' Kittel.

Jakub Mareczko of Willier Triestina took third place ahead of John Degenkolb and Sacha Modolo. Mareczko is the only new addition to an otherwise completely equal top five when compared to Wednesday's stage.

Kittel retains the leader's jersey for another day with Groenewegen moving up to second place at the expense of Bardiani-CSF's Nicola Boem.
