Fabio Felline takes victory at Trofeo Laigueglia

Fabio Felline has won the Italian Trofeo Laigueglia. The Trek-Segafredo rider reached the finish line solo, more than 30 seconds ahead of Romain Hardy and Mauro Finetto.

The 54th edition of the Italian one-day race, a 1.HC event since 2015, featured a course of 192.5 kilometers in the city of Laigueglia and its surroundings.

At around 100 kilometers to go an escape group was formed by Antonio Di Sante, Remy Di Gregorio, Connor Dunne, Davide Orrico and Ettore Carlini. This breakaway reached an advantage of more than three minutes over the peloton.

With less than 15 kilometers to go the main group caught the escapees. Trek-Segafredo's Fabio Felline attacked and was followed by a group of ten other riders.

The Italian created a gap of over 30 seconds with the chasers, who managed to save themselves from some crashes that were taking place on the descent behind them.

Felline arrived at the finish line keeping the advantage over the ten riders behind him and secured the victory in his home country with Hardy of Fortuneo-Vital Concept and Finetto of Delko Marseille Provence KTM taking second and third.
