Abu Dhabi Tour: Contador expects Trek-Segafredo victory at Queen Stage

Alberto Contador is looking forward to the Queen Stage of the Abu Dhabi Tour, knowing that there are several contenders to get the victory.

"We will see how I am feeling tomorrow. After the Ruta del Sol I feel energized and hopeful. Also, I will be sharing the work with Bauke (Mollema) and that is an advantage in a stage that has only one climb," said the rider to the Spanish news agency EFE.

El Pistolero, as he is nicknamed, knows that there are strong rivals for this stage but he points out one in particular. "The important thing is that Trek wins. There are very strong rivals like Nairo Quintana and others. Nairo is in theory the strongest with the exhibition that he made in Valencia and he may be the rival that we have to keep an eye on."

After a first stage in which he suffered a crash (and there was another big one at the end), Contador felt protected and confident in the second day. "The team did a great job and we avoided any risks. I knew the end and that the last ten kilometers were very open. That was where the fight started.

"It was a good day for us and we had the luck that it didn't rain because otherwise the road with water would have become an skating rink."
