Cofidis secures Nacer Bouhanni until 2019

Nacer Bouhanni has extended his contract with Cofidis for two more years. The French rider will stay in the team until the end of 2019.

The French team has confirmed the new contract of the rider, who is satisfied with the new deal. "Cofidis is the Pro Continental team that gets the most invitations in the WorldTour. So I can work with a calendar that fits my goals," Bouhanni commented.

"I needed some time in 2015 to find my place in this team. The adjustment was a success and the balance is positive. I quickly wanted to get to an agreement of an extension because I like to know what the future holds. Stability brings serenity and that is why I decided to extend the contract," he added.

The rider moved to Cofidis in 2015 after coming from FDJ. There he has achieved 55 UCI victories and his palmares includes three stage victories and the points jersey at the Giro d'Italia and two stages at the Vuelta a España.
