Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde to lead Movistar at Tour de France

Movistar team has announced its pre-selection for the Tour de France's squad. Colombian Nairo Quintana and Spaniard Alejandro Valverde will be leading the team in the French race.

It was known since the beginning of the season that Quintana was going to try to beat his past results and get the overall victory at the Tour de France. Now it is confirmed that Valverde will be leading the team with him.

The Colombian will be coming to the race after a second place in the Giro d'Italia and Valverde from a very successful season that includes overall victories in the Volta a Catalunya, the Tour of the Basque Country, the Vuelta a Andalucia, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, la Fleche Wallonne and the Vuelta a Murcia.

The other 12 riders that could get a spot in the final selection include Andrey Amador, Daniele Bennati, Carlos Betancur, Jonathan Castroviejo, Alex Dowsett, Imanol Erviti, Ruben Fernandez, Jesus Herrada, Dani Moreno, Nelson Oliveira, Jose Joaquin Rojas and Jasha Sütterlin.

The definitive squad for the French race will be unveiled after next week's National Championships, which are set to take place in several countries.
