Dylan Groenewegen feeling strong ahead of Tour de France

Moments after winning the second stage of the Ster ZLM Toer in the Netherlands, Dutch champion Dylan Groenewegen discussed his shape and strength ahead of the Tour de France.

The LottoNL-Jumbo rider sprinted to victory to take his fourth stage win of the season after having crossed the line first twice in the Tour of Norway and once in the Tour de Yorkshire.

"It's always nice to win. We already knew that the form was good. We were able to add another victory and that's a good feeling looking at the Tour de France," Groenewegen said.

The 23-year-old believes that he has gained strength in comparison to last season. "Compared to last year's Tour de France I got another bit stronger. I feel it and it shows in training. Of course I was a year younger last year.

"In the Tour we will compete with the strongest sprinters. There are a few here as well but they didn't enter the picture today while we did," he concluded.
