Patrick Lefevere: Marcel Kittel should lead Ster ZLM Toer, not Roglic

QuickStep Floors boss Patrick Lefevere believes that Marcel Kittel should be wearing the leader's jersey at the Ster ZLM Toer, rather than current leader Primoz Roglic.

Roglic was held up by a crash which according to the organisation took place within the last three kilometers and as such doesn't affect the overall standings. According to Lefevere however, the crash happened at 3.5 kilometers from the end.

"Rules are rules, and they should be applied," he told Het Nieuwsblad. "Kittel should have had the leader's jersey. But LottoNL-Jumbo is a Dutch team, right?"

Journalist Twan Spierts of regional broadcaster Omroep Brabant tweeted on Saturday that Roglic himself did not exactly know where the crash took place.

We have asked the Ster ZLM Toer for a reaction and will update when possible.
