Cannondale-Drapac's Toms Skujins returned to racing at the Latvian National Championships, where he got the second place in the Individual Time Trial.

While the images of Skujins crash in the Amgen Tour of California are still fresh, the rider is already getting back into form and is ready to face the second part of the season. The rider's injuries included a concussion, a broken collarbone and several skin abrasions but his recovery went according to plan.

The body of the rider of Cannondale-Drapac has almost completely healed after the crash. "There’s definitely less muscle around my shoulder. That’s what I need to start working on now. It’s been four weeks, and I’ve done another x-ray to confirm it’s healed. I pretty much have all the mobility back, maybe I’m missing 5-10%. I’m sure I’ll get that back within another month or so," he commented.

The rider's focus is now on the Tour de Pologne and for that he expects to be at 100%. "After Nationals, I go back to altitude so I can train hard again and get ready for Poland. Poland is the next big one with the team. I’m excited about it, but I’m trying not to get over-excited because it’s still a month away," the Latvian added.
