Cannondale-Drapac to face Tour de France with two leaders

Cannondale-Drapac have their roster ready for the Tour de France. The team will have a mix of riders to compete for stages and two riders to fight for the General Classification.

Rigoberto Uran and Andrew Talansky are the men chosen to fight for the overall victory. Talansky has already finished in positions 10 and 11 in the races of 2013 and 2015 respectively, while the Colombian has been in the French Grand Tour for three times and has twice finished second in the Giro d'Italia.

"We're going in with two GC leaders. Andrew and Rigo. But neither of those GC projects will hinder us from going after stage wins," said sport director Charly Wegelius. "When I look at this team, I see enthusiasm. I see potential. I see real, quality engines there. And I see a group of people who are really prepared to support one another. I see energy. It's all the things we say we are."

Cannondale-Drapac will have three debutants: Alberto Bettiol, Patrick Bevin, Taylor Phinney and Nate Brown.

Two times stage winner at the Tour de France and stage winner at the Giro d'Italia Pierre Rolland will try to add some more victories to his palmares.

Next to them will be Simon Clarke and Dylan van Baarle, who finished second in the Netherlands National Championships.

"Charly did a great job selecting a dynamic group of riders for this Tour," commented Slipstream Sports CEO Jonathan Vaughters. "I have confidence in the riders, but I also have confidence in the entire staff representing us in France, from the soigneurs to the directors and mechanics. It's going to be fun to watch."
