The one-day race Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic will take place on Sunday the 30st of July and several riders top have already confirmed their participation.

Riders like Fernando Gaviria (Quick-Step Floors), Michael Matthews (Sunweb), Andre Greipel (Lotto-Soudal) and Elia Viviani (Team Sky) have all confirmed that they will take part in the event, which from this year is part of the UCI WorldTour calendar.

Greipel is enthusiastic about being in this race for the first time. "Due to several circumstances I wasn’t able to start in London in previous years. Despite the fact that this is a rather new race a lot of top riders have already won here," he commented.

"Every year the list of participants becomes more and more impressive and with riders like Viviani, Gaviria and Matthews in this edition it shows that a lot of great cyclists want to come to London. The promotion of the race to the UCI WorldTour level is the best proof of this and a world city like London deserves a top race," Greipel added.

Riders like Arnaud Demare (FDJ) and Tom Boonen (Quick-Step Floors) have already won the race, and the German wants to be the next rider to do so. "The ideal scenario would be that at Lotto-Soudal we have a few riders still at the front when entering the finale and we can organise ourselves to aim for a good result."

A total of 14 WorldTour teams will be in the 187 kilometres long race that starts and finishes in London, England. They are: AG2R La Mondiale, Bora-hansgrohe, BMC, Cannondale-Drapac, LottoNL-Jumbo, Lotto-Soudal, Orica-Scott, Quick-Step Floors, Dimension Data, Katusha-Alpecin, Sky, Sunweb, Trek-Segafredo and UAE-Team Emirates.

Eight UCI ProContinental teams will participate in the race: Androni-Sidermec-Bottecchia, Aqua Blue Sport, Caja Rural Seguros RGA, CCC Sprandi Polkowice, Israel Cycling Academy, Wanty-Groupe Gobert, Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise and Wilier Triestina-Selle.
