The 13th stage of the Tour de France was a good day for Nairo Quintana (Movistar) The rider was part of the front group in the last kilometers and crossed the finish line in second place.

The Colombian experienced a good day, attacking on the second climb and chasing the front duo of Alberto Contador (Trek-Segafredo) and Mikel Landa (Sky), leaving behind the bad mountain days he has had in the race. "I always fight. As long as there is one gram of strength, as long as I feel good, I always try to give my all," said the rider at the end of the stage.

"Today was a brilliant day but I hope there will be more. I hope to have at least one more day like today."

Quintana recovered two minutes in the General Classification and is in 8th place in the overall standings at two minutes and seven seconds from race leader Fabio Aru (Astana). "I'm in the fight for the General Classification again. I don't lose hope and we all hope we can have more days like this one," he commented.

The rider claims that he will continue the battle to get the Yellow Jersey. "We have always fought, we have always been there and quality is not lost from one day to another. We are here and we always leave a mark."
