The 15th stage of the Tour de France has left Nairo Quintana (Movistar) out of the top 10 in the General Classification standings.

The rider couldn't keep up with the pace set on the climbs by the riders of AG2R La Mondiale. "I can feel the tiredness and today was a very difficult stage. I couldn't recover any further and I stayed behind. From now on we will see day by day what can be done," said the rider at the end of the stage.

The Colombian crossed the finish line at ten minutes and 19 seconds from stage winner Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo) but he is determined to continue fighting in the race. "We will always continue fighting, and we keep going forward. We won't give up," he said.

The rider had difficult moments in the first mountain stages and showed some improvement in the Pyrenees where he recovered two minutes, but his strength seems to be too little. "The head is the boss but when the body can't respond, nothing can be done."

Quintana is now out of the top 10 of the General Classification and is in 11th position, at six minutes and 16 seconds from race leader Chris Froome (Team Sky).
