Alberto Contador is currently riding his last Tour de France. This was confirmed by Trek-Segafredo manager Steven de Jongh.

The Dutchman, who joined Contador in his move from Tinkoff to Trek-Segafredo at the end of last season, spoke about the Spaniard's future in an interview with Dutch broadcaster NOS.

"He is riding his last Tour de France. Maybe he will still ride the Giro d'Italia next year but he will let that depends on his result in this Tour," De Jongh said.

"I notice that he really wants to win a stage in this Tour, to say goodbye to France in the most beautiful way," he added.

Contador, 34, rode the Tour de France nine times before and won the race in 2007 and 2009. He also won the 2010 edition but this result was later removed.
