The agent of Movistar rider Nairo Quintana denies that the two-times Grand Tour winner may be moving to a different team at the end of the season.

There had been rumours about the departure of Nairo Quintana in the last few days, fueled by the tough words of team director Eusebio Unzue about the rider.

Although some Colombian media reported on the supposed interest teams like Sky and Astana have in the Colombian, and Unzue's comments saying that the condition of the rider is going "backwards", Quintana's agent denies that he is planning a departure, for the moment.

"He has a contract until 2019. He is a rider that has a contract with Movistar. After the Tour, just like it is done in every other race, they will analyse what happened," said Giuseppe Acquadro to Colombian newspaper El Tiempo.

"You can always get to an agreement to rescind the contract when something happens between the parts, but for now nothing like that has been discussed.

Unzue told media that Quintana's work in the Giro d'Italia was not brilliant and that in the Tour his talents seem to be having a regression, words that fell hard on the rider. "Nairo didn't like those words, that is clear, but for now we are calm and then it will be discussed. That is normal. After the Tour they will have time to sit, talk and try to figure everything out," the manager commented.

Acquadro also stated that until now there have not been any discussions about the future of the rider. "He is one of the best cyclists of the world, and that makes other teams consider him and talk. But as it is today, I don't have any offers for Nairo. It is premature to talk about this right now. What I can say is that I haven't spoken with any team. Not with Sky and not with Astana," he affirmed.
