Warren Barguil: We never thought we would have two jerseys and four stage wins

Frenchman Warren Barguil of Team Sunweb took a second stage victory at the Tour de France and secured the Polka Dot Jersey, pending his arrival to Paris.

Barguil attacked on the final climb and cruised past several former breakaway riders to take his second stage win, the fourth for his team.

"It's really fantastic. I can't believe it. It's a dream for me," Barguil said after the stage.

"Last night I was talking with Michael (Matthews) and we said that we had never thought that we would have the Polka Dot Jersey, the Green Jersey, one stage for me and two for him. And now it's 2-2. It's just unbelievable."

Barguil was the first of the usual suspects to attack on the Izoard climb, and initially had Alberto Contador in his wheel.

"I was waiting for the steep part to see how it would go. I wanted to gain some time on Contador to maybe win one spot. So I attacked and he followed me. We then reached (Bauke) Mollema but we slowed down so I just passed him and set my pace to the top.

In the last kilometers I saw (Darwin) Atapuma. Last year I was behind him in the Tour de Suisse and I couldn't close the gap on the last climb, but today I made it. It's just crazy.
