Nairo Quintana (Movistar) has had yet another difficult stage at the Tour de France. Like he had already anticipated, his legs were not strong enough and he was dropped at the climb of the Izoard.

At the end of the stage, the rider commented on how he felt throughout the day. "It has been impossible and I held on as much as I could. I don't think it's good to feel the way I feel, it is difficult to explain. But we tried our best, and we will finish like I've said before."

The objective for the Colombian's season was to get the victory at the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France, but it didn't work out as expected. "We know we didn't do things correctly. What we were planning to do was very risky, and we didn't know what the outcome was going to be. We haven't had the results we wanted but next year will be different," he commented.

"Next year I will ride the Tour. This year, even though we bet for the double Grand Tour, had as a main objective the Tour, but it didn't work. The Tour de France is my race, the one where I have been most successful and where I started as a professional."

The rider also wanted to end the speculation about his potential departure from Movistar, with one sentence. "I have a contract until 2019 and I will stay at Movistar."
