In the last two days Colombian media have reported the departure of Nairo Quintana from Movistar to Team Sky or Astana. The British formation denies any interest in the rider.

Sky's General Director Sir Dave Brailsford has come out to deny all the speculation. "If you would believe every rumour you hear, everybody would be riding for Sky," he said to Spanish news agency EFE.

"Every time someone wants to animate the transfer market, it is speculated that someone is going to be signed by Sky. We are relaxed. Quintana has a contract, and we respect that, we wouldn't try to sign a rider that already has a contract."

Sky's Sports Director Nicolas Portal not only doesn't think that the Colombian will stay in the Spanish team, but he doesn't see him fitting in the Sky's squad. "I can't imagine that Movistar would let Nairo Quintana go. Also, I don't see Quintana as a realistic option for our team," he commented.
