Warren Barguil of Team Sunweb has won the Super Combativity award of the 2017 Tour de France. This was announced during Saturday's time trial.

Barguil often showed himself at the front of the race during the last two weeks of the Tour de France, which earned him the lead in the King of the Mountains classification as well as two stage win.

The Frenchman won both stage 13 and 18, handing Sunweb two of its total of four stage wins at this Tour de France.

Barguil received four votes from the jury, ahead of Belgian Thomas De Gendt with two votes. The Lotto-Soudal rider was by many seen as the favorite to win the award after spending about 1200 kilometers in breakaways.

The award is given to the rider who, according to the jury, showed the most aggressive cycling throughout the race.

Barguil succeeds 2016 winner Peter Sagan and is the sixth French rider in ten editions to win the award.
