Cannondale-Drapac's Rigoberto Uran has taken the second position on the overall podium of the Tour de France at the Champs-Elysees in Paris.

The rider is happy with his performance in La Grande Boucle. "To be on the podium with a rival so strong, but also a nice and noble person like (Chris) Froome, is very nice for me. You always want to win, but to be on the podium of one of the Grand Tours also makes me very happy," he said to Colombian media at the end of the stage.

Uran was welcomed in Paris by his fellow countrymen. "I'm very happy to be here and very happy to see all those Colombian flags. It makes me very happy to see and receive all the support from the people in Colombia," he commented.

The Colombian emphasised how important this kind of achievements are for his country. "This is a very important podium for cycling, for Colombia and for the young and all kinds of people. This is for them so they never give up, even if there are difficult moments in life, everything is possible. If you want things and are capable of dreaming, you can achieve anything," the rider affirmed.
