Wilco Kelderman will be leading Team Sunweb at the upcoming Tour de Pologne. The rider will have a first test ahead of his leadership in La Vuelta a España.
The 2017 Tour de Pologne will feature 23 categorised climbs and three uphill finishes. The race will also include three opportunities for sprinters.
Sunweb has formed a team to support Kelderman in his General Classification ambitions. "We are aiming to explore GC possibilities with Wilco," said coach Dirk Reuling. "The most decisive days come on stage three and during the final two stages in the Tatra mountains around Zakopane.
"We have a diverse and talented team here that will support Wilco in the best possible way, so he can save as much as possible energy for the key moments. Next to these goals there are some good sprint opportunities where we will explore the possibilities with Max. There is no time trial on the last stage this year, but now an uphill finish. This means we can expect something completely different and for sure an exciting final."
Kelderman will be joined by Bert De Backer, Johannes Frôhlinger, Chad Haga, Lennard Kämna, Sam Oomen and Max Walscheid.
