AG2R La Mondiale's Pierre Latour will have to take a short break to recover from a fracture he suffered at a crash during last Tour de France.

The rider fell during the last time trial in Marseille and after that he had a persistent pain. After X-rays taken at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire of Granoble, the rider was diagnosed with a hairline fracture of the pelvis.

This means that the Frenchman rode the entire last stage of the French Grand Tour with a broken pelvis. He finished the race in 29th position in the General Classification, sixth in the Young riders standings.

The rider will now have to rest for three weeks, which causes him to miss the Tour de l'Ain where he finished third in the last two editions.
