Dutchman Wout Poels will lead Team Sky at the upcoming Tour de Pologne. The British formation confirmed this on Wednesday.

Poels, a vital force to Chris Froome's third Tour de France victory in 2016, has had a difficult 2017 season as result of injury. This also kept him out of the recent Tour de France, despite his optimism ahead of Team Sky's final decision.

Nevertheless, Poels is now ready to take responsibility at the Polish tour, in preparation of the upcoming Vuelta a España where he is expected to assist Froome in what could be his first overall win in the Spanish race.

Team Sky will field a strong formation in Poland, with both Sebastian Henao and Diego Rosa ready to assist Poels in the mountains.

The other four riders on Team Sky's list are Michal Golas, Salvatore Puccio, Lukasz Wisniowski and Danny van Poppel. The latter will try to compete for stage wins in mass sprints.
