Less than a week after the end of the Tour de France, Serge Pauwels wants to carry his good form to the Clasica San Sebastian. The Belgian will lead Dimension Data in the Spanish classic.

This is a race for climbers and the team wants to take advantage of the rider's good form, which he showed by finishing in the top 20 of the French Grand Tour.

"We are looking forward to our late summer Spanish racing campaign, starting with the Clasica San Sebastian tomorrow followed by Vuelta Burgos and then the Vuelta a España," said Sport Director Bingen Fernandez. "San Sebastian is a beautiful race but extremely difficult. There is nowhere to hide and the level will be very high.

"You have to have good legs and a strong team to be successful at San Sebastian and we believe we have both going into tomorrow's race. Our team is complete with exciting climbers and we will look to race with positive intent because once you are behind the game in San Sebastian, it is very difficult to come back into the mix."

Apart from Pauwels, Dimension Data will take Lachlan Morton, Igor Anton, Merhawi Kudus, Omar Fraile, Ben King, Jacques Janse van Rensburg and Jaco Venter to San Sebastian.
