Current European Time Trial champion Jonathan Castroviejo is not going to defend his title as the Movistar rider chose not to go to the Championships in Herning, Denmark.

The Spaniard won't defend his title because in the next days he is going to be a father. The rider decided to stay with his wife to receive his second child.

Movistar's Victor De La Parte and Hector Carretero will be representing Spain in the time trial and will travel to Denmark on August 1st.

The Spanish Cycling Federation has also chosen the riders that will take part in the road race of Sunday, the 6th of August. Carretero and De La Parte will be alongside their Movistar teammates Imanol Erviti, Jesus Herrada and Jose Joaquin Rojas, as well as Ivan Garcia Cortina (Bahrain-Merida), Jon Irisarri (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), Juanjo Lobato (LottoNL-Jumbo) and Luis Leon Sanchez (Astana).
