Georg Preidler is leaving Team Sunweb to move to FDJ. The Austrian has signed a two-year contract with the French team.

The 26-year-old puts an end to a five-year adventure with Sunweb, in which he proved to be a good domestique. "I am really excited to ride for a team that has a lot of tradition," said the rider to the APA (Austria Press Agency).

"If everything goes as expected, this is a team where I can see myself in the long term."

The rider will have more freedom in the team to develop and make a name of his own. But Preidler doesn't look too far ahead and says that right now his objective is one: "Integrate and integrate well."

By moving to a French team, another test for the rider will be the learning of a new language, in an environment in which everything is done in French. "I also aim to learn a new language as a personal challenge. I speak Italian and I hope that will help me learn faster."
