TOUR DE L'AIN

Frenchman Johan le Bon of FDJ has won the prologue of the Tour de l'Ain in his home country. The top 10 was particularly dominated by domestic riders.

The prologue in Bourg-en-Bresse was only 3.8 kilometers long, offering an opportunity for the more explosive time trialists to show themselves.

Le Bon needed four minutes and 32 seconds to complete the course, with which he was two seconds faster than AG2R La Mondiale's Alexandre Geniez and Cofidis rider Anthony Turgis.

With the exception of Spaniard Juan Jose Lobato in fifth place, the entire top ten of the final result was French.

The Tour de l'Ain is a 2.1 race and forms part of the UCI Europe Tour. In 2016, it was won by Sam Oomen of Team Giant-Alpecin (now Sunweb) and other former winners include Andrew Talansky and Romain Bardet.
