Jakob Fuglsang has suffered a crash during a Criterium in Herning, Denmark. The rider of Astana has a collarbone fracture that may leave him out of the upcoming World Championships.

The Dane was just coming back after recovering from the arm fractures he suffered during the 2017 Tour de France.

Fuglsang went to the criterium with the objective of starting the preparations for the second part of the season. After the crash, he was taken to a hospital in Herning, where he was diagnosed with a fracture in the left collarbone.

His team has confirmed that he will be taken to the hospital of Herentals, where he will undergo surgery on Sunday.

The Scandinavian had the intention of targeting the World Championships of Bergen, to confirm the good form he showed in the last Criterium du Dauphine where he took the overall victory.
