Tom Dumoulin and Jasper Stuyven celebrate in BinckBank Tour

Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo) has won the last stage of the BinckBank Tour while Tom Dumoulin (Sunweb) took the overall victory.

The last stage of the Dutch-Belgium race was 191.3 kilometres long between Essen and Geraardsbergen, in a course that included the famous Muur van Geraardsbergen.

A few kilometres into the stage seven riders escaped and got around two minutes of advantage over the peloton. The group included riders like Elia Viviani (Sky) and Tony Martin (Katusha-Alpecin) and was caught during the last lap of the circuit.

A group of around 15 riders, including the favourites, then created a gap with the rest of the bunch. Several attacks happened in this group, including some by Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe) and Greg van Avermaet (BCM), but the only one that succeeded came from Jasper Stuyven (Trek-Segafredo) who crossed the finish line a second ahead of the others to take the stage victory.

Tom Dumoulin (Sunweb) finished third and this result, along with the two seconds he took at the Golden Kilometre, were enough for him to take the overall victory.
