Vuelta a España - Adam Yates: The good legs will come in the last week

Adam Yates of Orica-Scott lost a few seconds on race leader Chris Froome (Sky) and some of the other GC candidates, but remains in eighth place after five stages.
The fifth stage of the Vuelta a España finished with a short but steep climb. An attack by Froome was a little too much for Yates to keep up with, but the rider is optimistic about the ways things have been unfolding.
"So far so good," the Briton told Spanish broadcaster RTVE. "I still feel a little bit rusty at those short sharp climbs but I'm sure in the last week the legs will come. But we still have Esteban (Chaves) in a good position, and we still have some options to play in the days to come."
Orica-Scott has a rather luxurious situation with no less than three riders capable of fighting for the overall classification.
"We are three leaders. Me, Simon and Esteban. We all work together and like I keep saying, day after day we have more cards than anybody else to play, more targets we can use and in the last week when everyone is tired, we can use that to our advantage."
The rider acknowledges that while climbs like today's are tough, they do suit his physique.
"I think nobody really enjoys the steep climbs but I'm pretty light, so I can go pretty quick in those ones. And day by day we will just take it."
