Polish rider Tomasz Marczynski described the day of his stage victory in the Vuelta a España as a 'super nice day' and aims to take more chances as the race continues.

Marczynski won the Polish national championship twice and the national time trial championship once, but he was still looking for a big win in an international race. The Lotto-Soudal rider got exactly that when he beat his compatriot Pawel Poljanski and Spaniard Enric Mas for victory in stage 6 of the Vuelta a España.

I had the traditional celebration with champagne," the rider told CyclingPub.com. "I slept well as I was very tired so I had a good night."

Victory in a grand tour comes with a lot of attention, Marczynski found out. "I received messages from everywhere, my friends from around the world. It was really a super nice day for me."

With two weeks left to go in the Vuelta, the 33-year-old aims to have opportunities to shine again. "I hope so, there are some more possibilities and I want to try for sure."
