The Netherlands has chosen its selection for the upcoming World Championships of Bergen, Norway.
National coach Thorwald Veneberg, along with talent coaches Peter Zijerveld and Loes Gunnewijk, have chosen the riders that will represent the country at the championships that will take place between the 16th and the 24th of September.
As was announced by the rider himself at the end of the Giro d'Italia, Tom Dumoulin will be riding the Individual Time Trial. Sunweb's Wilco Kelderman will take the second spot in this competition that will take place on Wednesday, September 20.
For the road race, which will be on Sunday the 24th of September, the chosen riders are: Niki Terpstra, Dumoulin, Jos van Emden, Dylan van Baarle, Sebastian Langeveld, Bauke Mollema, Lars Boom, Wout Poels and Koen de Kort.
"It is a strong group of riders that have the attack as a trademark. The total level of the Dutch men grows every year. That is why I see us every time a step closer to the title and by that I also mean the time trial," said Veneberg.
Ellen van Dijk, Anna van der Breggen and Annemiek van Vleuten will ride the women's time trial and will be joined by Chantal Blaak, Marianne Vos, Amy Pieters, Lucinda Brand and Janneke Ensing for the road race.
