Katusha-Alpecin rider Maxim Belkov was pushed off the road by a spectator during the 12th stage of the Vuelta a España.
The Russian rider shared the experience on Facebook after which a fan, who had recorded the incident, posted her video on Twitter.
"Today at the 12th stage on the last mountain, 1-2km before the GPM, I was pushed and kicked off the bike by one of the 'fans' in a red T-shirt," Belkov wrote.
"I flew over the fence and fell into the sink pit. It's outrageous and not athletic in relation to the riders! Maybe someone has a video of what happened.."
Katusha-Alpecin posted its rider's comment on Twitter to see if anyone was able to help the rider. Twitter user Lorena Banderas replied by posting a video, which clearly shows the incident.
The incident happened on an already hectic day with one fan throwing himself in front of a race motorcycle and an arsonist setting fire to the Aqua Blue Sport team bus.
