Nacer Bouhanni wins GP de Fourmies

Frenchman Nacer Bouhanni of Cofidis has won the 2017 edition of the GP de Fourmies. FDJ's Marc Sarreau and Bora-hansgrohe's Rudiger Selig completed the top three.

The French 1.HC race consisted of a 205km route with both start and finish in Fourmies.

A group of 21 was formed in the first half of the race and got an advantage of about three minutes, but the peloton kept everything under control and eventually caught the remaining leaders with ten kilometers to go.

Another attack was launched in the last kilometers but the sprinters' teams made sure that this attempt led to nothing.

In the final sprint, Bouhanni defeated Sarreau and Selig to take his second win at the race, having won before in 2013. With this victory, Bouhanni succeeds last year's winner Marcel Kittel.
