Chris Froome has confirmed his participation in the Individual Time Trial at the upcoming World Championships in Bergen, Norway.

British Cycling's head coach is pleased to see the winner of the Tour de France-Vuelta a España double representing Great Britain in the Championships. "I’m delighted to see Chris Froome wishing to finish his season in Great Britain Cycling Team colours after another fantastic year for him and I’m looking forward to seeing him in action on a course which suits his strengths," he commented.

The course of the time trial in Bergen in unique with a steep climb during the last 3.5 kilometres. Current British time trial champion Steve Cummings will occupy the second spot for Great Britain in this competition.

Froome had already confirmed during the Vuelta a España that he will also take part in the Team Time trial with Sky. The rider has only once competed in the time trial of the World Championships, in 2009 when he finished in 18th position.

British Cycling also confirmed the line-up for the Championships' road race. Adam Blythe, Mark Christian, Jon Dibben, Owain Doull, Tao Geoghegan Hart, Pete Kennaugh, Ian Stannard, Ben Swift and Scott Thwaites will represent their country in Norway.
