PostNord Danmark Rundt: TT victory for Matthias Brandle, Mads Pedersen keeps lead

Australian Matthias Brandle has won the fourth stage of the PostNord Danmark Rundt, an individual time trial in the town of Randers.

At 17.8 kilometers, the course was relatively short and allowed the more explosive time trialists to make the difference.

Trek-Segafredo's Matthias Brandle set the fastest time of the day at 20:57 to take the stage win with a comfortable 34-second margin on BHS Almeborg Bornholm rider Martin Toft Madsen.

Last year's winner Michael Valgren of Astana tried to threaten race leader Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo) but both riders clocked the same time at 37 seconds from the winner, as such maintaining the status quo at the top of the classification.

With one stage to go, Pedersen remains at the top of the standings with an advantage of eight seconds over Valgren. Former leader Casper Pedersen moves back up to third place.
