The 98th edition of Milano-Torino will have some of the most prominent names in cycling on its start list. Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana) will come back to defend his title and will be challenged by most of the best riders of the moment.

The oldest Classic bicycle race in the world will take place next Thursday, October 5th, starting in San Giuliano Milanese and finishing uphill in Milano.

Lopez will defend his title against riders like 2017 Giro d'Italia winner Tom Dumoulin (Sunweb), the runner-up of the Italian Grand Tour Nairo Quintana (Movistar), the number two of the year's Tour de France Rigoberto Uran (Cannondale-Drapac), Milano-Sanremo winner Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky) and Tour de France Polka Dot jersey winner Warren Barguil (Sunweb).

Next to these stars of the current season will be other big names such as Mikel Landa (Team Sky), Esteban Chaves and Adam Yates (Orica-Scott), Steven Kruijswijk and Primoz Roglic (LottoNL-Jumbo), Ilnur Zakarin (Katusha-Alpecin), Daniel Martin and Julian Alaphillipe (Quick-Step Floors) and FDJ's Thibaut Pinot.

All UCI WorldTour teams and five UCI Professional Continental teams will participate in the Italian race. Each team will have eight riders.
